Özdoğan Energy Co., Inc. was founded in 2005 with the goal of operating in electricity generation in the national and international electricity and energy sector, to install and operate plants to generate electricity from any kind of natural and artificial resources, to sell the generated electricity, to realize all economical and legal transactions which are required by the referred operations and concerning such operations under a single roof.
Özdoğan Group continues the experience it had gained upon successfully completing in a short time Çine Adnan Menderes Dam and Hydroelectric Project, which had the property of being the 1st highest in Europe, 4th highest in the world and the first Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) type dam of Turkey at the period it was constructed, now with Özdoğan Energy.
AYVALI DAM AND HEPP PROJECT
Located in Erzurum province Oltu district, Ayvalı Dam and HEPP is on the Çoruh River, Oltu Creek in the Çoruh Basin which is one of the richest basins of Turkey.
Its license taken by Özdoğan Energy in 2008, the construction of Ayvalı Dam and HEPP started in 2011 and, been completed in a short time of 4 years, started generation within 2015. Having a body height of 177 m and a total of 15 km tunnels, Ayvalı Dam and HEPP is of the Roller Compacted Concrete Dam type and with these characteristics, it is 1st highest RCC Dam in Europe and 4th highest in the world.
Contributing to the country’s economy by generating annually 320 million kilowatt-hour electricity with its total 135 MW installed capacity including 2 pieces of Francis type turbine, each 65 MW, and 2 pieces of life line turbine, 2.5 MW each, the total reservoir volume of Ayvalı Dam and HEPP is 308 million cubic meters and the pond area is 7.5 square kilometers.
Electromechanical equipment of Ayvalı Dam and HEPP, which was made by Özkar Construction of which field of interest is RCC dams in the body of Özdoğan Group, are supplied from the firms such as Andritz Hidro, ABB, Areva, Schneider, Bosch Rexroth and BEST which are the most known and reliable firms in their sectors.
